چکیده
Fe-based amorphous alloys often exhibit severe brittleness induced by annealing treatment, which increases the difficulties in handling and application industry. In this work, shear transformation zone its correlation with fracture characteristics for FeSiB alloy ribbons different structural states were investigated. The results show that bending strain decreases sharply temperature increase, accompanied decreased band density plastic deformation zone. Furthermore, microscopic surface features transform from a micron-scale dimple pattern to nano-scale dimples periodic corrugations. According nano-indentation results, rate sensitivity volume change significantly upon is responsible deterioration of ductility transition features.

Introducing and investigating structural and magnetic properties of ribbons Co68.5-xFe4WxSi16.5B11 (x = 0.8, 2) in amorphous and crystalline states
In this study, for the first time, cobalt base ribbons were made by adding two different amounts of tungsten with Co67.7Fe4W0.8Si16.5B11 and Co66.5Fe4W2 Si16.5B11 compounds by melt spinning in the water. The pattern of X-ray diffraction taken from these ribbons shows that these magnetic ribbons are amorphous. By using thermal analysis curves, taken from the ribbons, crystallization temperature...
متن کاملShear-transformation-zone theory of yielding in athermal amorphous materials.
Yielding transitions in athermal amorphous materials undergoing steady-state shear flow resemble critical phenomena. Historically, they have been described by the Herschel-Bulkley rheological formula, which implies singular behaviors at yield points. In this paper, I examine this class of phenomena using an elementary version of the thermodynamic shear-transformation-zone (STZ) theory, focusing...
متن کاملRate-dependent shear bands in a shear-transformation-zone model of amorphous solids.
We use shear transformation zone (STZ) theory to develop a deformation map for amorphous solids as a function of the imposed shear rate and initial material preparation. The STZ formulation incorporates recent simulation results [T. K. Haxton and A. J. Liu, Phys. Rev. Lett. 99, 195701 (2007)] showing that the steady state effective temperature is rate dependent. The resulting model predicts a w...
متن کاملAthermal shear-transformation-zone theory of amorphous plastic deformation. II. Analysis of simulated amorphous silicon.
In the preceding paper, we developed an athermal shear-transformation-zone (STZ) theory of amorphous plasticity. Here we use this theory in an analysis of numerical simulations of plasticity in amorphous silicon by Demkowicz and Argon (DA). In addition to bulk mechanical properties, those authors observed internal features of their deforming system that challenge our theory in important ways. W...
متن کاملStrain-rate and temperature-driven transition in the shear transformation zone for two-dimensional amorphous solids.
We couple the recently developed self-learning metabasin escape algorithm, which enables efficient exploration of the potential energy surface (PES), with shear deformation to elucidate strain-rate and temperature effects on the shear transformation zone (STZ) characteristics in two-dimensional amorphous solids. In doing so, we report a transition in the STZ characteristics that can be obtained...
